As the Director of Marketing, I developed and executed a new plan for MartinLogan's web, print and social media initiatives. After redesigning and rebuilding martinlogan.com, my main focus was building brand awareness to a completely new customer base to increase MartinLogan's exposure outside of the electronics industry.
The company grew to the #5 most popular speaker brand in the US (based on NPD sell through data) and we continued to develop engaging marketing campaigns centered around professional video campaigns and consumer social interaction, while keeping a strong focus on education, brand loyalty, and advertising to those outside of industry outlets.
The main focus of my professional career has been spent working with polkaudio.com. Through the years, polkaudio.com has gone through many transitions and changes. I had the opportunity to learn what works and what doesn't, with an average audience of 12,000 unique daily visitors, and a community of 61,712 forum members (and growing) that would email me daily. Believe me, when something didn't work (user interface problems, confusion over application functionality, even broken links), I knew about it.
This type of environment fast-tracked my working knowledge of the way users engage in websites; through learning, searching, contributing and buying, I've tweaked every inch of polkaudio.com to meet a wide range of different objectives as effectively as possible.
My close personal friend, Zach Sowers, was involved in a horrible and senseless act of violence on his way home one night. Through the entire painful months after his attack, I created and maintained zachsowers.com to update close personal friends and family of his recovery progress. Tragically, Zach passed away as a result of his injuries.
His wife Anna Sowers has used zachsowers.com to reach out to thousands of people and she has taken over updating it and driving public awareness to serious problems of our legal system. She's coordinated local fundraisers, published articles, contacted local officials and has been in the spotlight to fight for the rights and safety of everyone in Baltimore. There's also a section for support and comments that has now been a source of political debate and discussion.
Self Storage Plus is one of DelMarVa's most successful franchise businesses, with locations throughout the area. They needed a web hosting and design solution that would simplify their customer interaction. I created an interactive website that streamlines the customer's Self Storage Plus experience; simplifying the choice of location with intuitive Google Maps location finder, the choice of storage units based on size, location and price, and the reservation process. It even delivers online-only specials that drive business.
Max's Taphouse is a Baltimore legend; the anchor for the bustling, historic Fells Point neighborhood of small pubs and restaurants. With the largest beer selection on the East Coast, Max's Taphouse needed a website that could catalog and print their beer lists with easy-to-use, internal database administration. The same admin-friendly database allows the party animals at Max's to upload images from festivals and events the very next day, and to keep in constant contact with their growing email list of beer lovers. This massive renovation of an antiquated site into a deep powerhouse of marketing raises the stakes in the web development of Fells Point!
